4/10 - Oh, the Places You Could Go! Sandtray Techniques        (CE or Program) In-Person

Friday 10th                 9:30 - 4:30 pm                             6 Hours                                             Content: Skills and Methods

​        The world of sandtray therapy can be both amazingly cathartic and daunting as a clinician. Join us for this six hour training focused on harnessing the power and symbolism of the sandtray utilizing a variety of techniques within the Adlerian play therapy model. Participants will learn “the places you can go” with your clients to help them identify, process, and overcome life’s difficulties. 

Objectives:
  1. Participants will identify their play therapy theoretical orientation and which sandtray techniques are best to use.
  2. Participants will identify three benefits of utilizing sandtray techniques with clients of all ages in the playroom. 
  3. Participants will identify two sandtray techniques to utilize with children 5-10 in the playroom.
  4. Participants will identify two sandtray techniques to utilize with preteens and adolescents playroom.
  5. Participants will identify two sandtray techniques to utilize with adults. 
  6. Participants will demonstrate sandtray and play therapy techniques in role playing scenarios.

          Join us in unraveling the complexities of Adlerian conceptualization and temperament. During this workshop participants will explore the many components of how Adlerian play therapists conceptualize child clients.

  2. Participants will be able to describe 3 components of the family constellation within the Adlerian play therapy model. 
  3. Participants will identify the 4 personality priorities within the Adlerian play therapy model. 
  4. Participants will discuss goals of misbehaviors within the Adlerian play therapy model and how they manifest in the playroom.
  5. Participants will discuss the components of temperament within the Adlerian play therapy model.
  6. Participants will utilize 3 Adlerian play therapy activities that are designed to identify the various aspects of a child client's conceptualization.

5/8 - Introduction to Trauma in the Playroom (CE or Program) In-Person

         Are you trauma-informed or trained? This training will help you begin to bridge that gap and learn how trauma impacts your child's client and effective play therapy interventions. Using the cognitive behavioral play therapy lens, this workshop will provide introductory education and hands-on learning to address trauma with play therapy clients. 

Objectives:
  1. Participants will discuss the neurobiology of trauma and how it impacts the play therapy client. 
  2. Participants will analyze the definition of trauma and how it relates to play therapy. 
  3. Participants will discuss three appropriate assessments and tools to treat trauma in the play therapy session effectively.
  4. Participants will describe how to utilize the therapeutic powers of play with children who have experienced trauma in a play therapy session. 
  5. Participants will create three specialized play therapy interventions to utilize with children who have experienced trauma in the play therapy session. 
  6. Participants will apply their play therapy trauma training to 1 case study.

        Finding time to attend trainings for continuing education or play therapy training can be difficult. Join us in exploring the foundational concepts of the following seminal theories to help determine your theoretical orientation; Developmental, Object-Relations, Theraplay, Filial, and Child-Centered.
  1. Participants will identify five basic beliefs of the aforementioned seminal theories.
  2. Participants will explain four causes of behaviors as determined by the above listed seminal theories.
  3. Participants will describe five play therapy skills utilized by the seminal theories listed above.

          In this recorded training, the participant will learn how CCPT is presented in the playroom and with parents.

Objectives: 
  1. Participants will analyze Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and how to be grounded in the theory as a Play Therapist
  2. Participants will analyze the core principles of CCPT through role play.
  3. Participants will describe CCPT play therapy skills. 
  4. Participants will discuss how to explain CCPT ideals used in the Playroom with caregivers. 
  5. Participants will discuss what aspects of CCPT they identify with. . 
  6. Participants will analyze 2 case studies and apply CCPT core principals from the playroom.

​Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be emailed, [email protected], at least 5 business days prior to training. Attendee has the option to transfer credit to another Playhouse training or accept a refund minus a cancellation fee of $25. 
Cancellations made less than 5 business days prior to training, are eligible for transferable credit to a Playhouse training of similar value. No refunds will be available. All refunds, minus the $25 cancellation fee, will be mailed 30 days after request.  
Should the presenter need to cancel training for emergency or inclement weather, participants will be notified via email, as soon as possible. Training will be rescheduled for a later date, in the event the subsequent date does not conform to the participant’s schedule, a full refund or credit (for future training) will be given.
