1/9 - Posttraumatic Play; Is it Dynamic or Toxic?        (CE) In-Person or Live Webinar Option

         Posttraumatic play can be daunting for many therapists. Understanding the power of posttraumatic play and knowing how to facilitate it in a play therapy session is key for treatment. This workshop focuses on evaluating posttraumatic play, recognizing toxic posttraumatic play, and intervening when the play becomes toxic for a child client.

Objectives:
  1. Participants will explain the different trauma types and the role of the therapist in posttraumatic play.
  2. Participants will describe three benefits of posttraumatic play within the context of play therapy.
  3. Participants will describe three ways of identifying posttraumatic play within the context of play therapy
  4. Participants will describe three ways of evaluating posttraumatic play within the context of play therapy.
  5. Participants will list three warning signs of when posttraumatic play becomes toxic within a play therapy session.

2/7 - Ethical Considerations in Play Therapy Supervision    (CE)   Live Webinar or In-Person

         This training is designed for play therapists who are beginning the process of becoming supervisors or for current supervisors seeking a refresher on best practices in play therapy supervision. Participants will review the essential components of informed consent and supervisory contracts, explore ethical and legal considerations specific to play therapy, and examine strategies for maintaining confidentiality within the supervisory relationship. Through discussion and applied examples, attendees will also strengthen their ability to support supervisees in navigating ethical dilemmas, ensuring supervision is grounded in clarity, professionalism, and ethical decision-making.

2/21 - I Can Play Here, There, and Everywhere! (CE) In-Person Only

          Working in a school, the counselor/clinician must be creative in where and how to utilize Play Therapy techniques. School-aged children spend at least 40 hours a week in school and may not have access to outside mental health resources. Having the ability to apply Play Therapy techniques in the school setting can be beneficial to support school-aged children. 
    Objectives:
  1. Participants will explain the differences between the use of Play Therapy and Play Therapy techniques in the school setting. 
  2. Participants will demonstrate 5  play interventions for a school-based play therapist to utilize in the school setting. 
  3. Participants will discuss best practices around when to utilize School-Based Play Therapy techniques.

3/6 - Foundations of Adlerian Play Therapy      (CE or Program) In-Person or Live Webinar

          What is Adlerian play therapy? How does it differ from other seminal theories of play therapy? Is it right fit for me as a clinician? 3/7 - Discovering Your Inner Supervisor; Blending Theory with Self

         One of the quickest ways to encounter supervisor burnout is experiencing incongruence between your supervisory theory (or lack thereof) and your true self. How do we, as supervisors, take care of ourselves? In this training, we will focus on your knowledge of supervisory theories and models, take a hard look at ourselves, and start to blend the two to create a unified and effective supervisor. 

Objectives:
  1. Participants will evaluate the existing supervision framework utilizing self-assessments and inventories. 
  2. Participants will analyze two supervision theories that the participant has rated. 
  3. Participants will discuss the significance of being rooted in a supervision theory and its practical application to real-world supervision. 
  4. Participants will identify current self-perceptions regarding supervision through a psychoeducational activity. 
  5. Participants will critically analyze three prevailing obstacles encountered by supervisors. 
  6. Participants will demonstrate two activities aimed at fostering an ongoing integration of theory and personal development as a supervisor.

3/20 - Adlerian Phases and Treatment Planning       (CE or Program) In-Person or Live Webinar

        Understanding the Adlerian phases and framework of an Adlerian treatment plan greatly aids the Adlerian play therapist in facilitating change in the playroom with clients. Participants will explore the four Adlerian phases of play therapy, learning to identify what comprises each distinctive phase. Participants will also learn the skill of developing an Adlerian treatment plan to aid in guiding the four phases of Adlerian play therapy.

4/10 - Oh, the Places You Could Go! Sandtray Techniques        (CE or Program) In-Person

​        The world of sandtray therapy can be both amazingly cathartic and daunting as a clinician. Join us for this six hour training focused on harnessing the power and symbolism of the sandtray utilizing a variety of techniques within the Adlerian play therapy model. Participants will learn “the places you can go” with your clients to help them identify, process, and overcome life’s difficulties.

  1. Participants will identify their play therapy theoretical orientation and which sandtray techniques are best to use.
  2. Participants will identify three benefits of utilizing sandtray techniques with clients of all ages in the playroom.

        Finding time to attend trainings for continuing education or play therapy training can be difficult. Select from our non-contact book certificates to complete training hours on your own time and at your own pace. Participants are responsible for purchasing the book of their choice. Intermediate Child-Centered Play Therapy 6 Hours in Seminal Theories

          In this recorded training, the participant will learn how CCPT is presented in the playroom and with parents.

Objectives: 
  1. Participants will analyze Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and how to be grounded in the theory as a Play Therapist
  2. Participants will analyze the core principles of CCPT through role play.
  3. Participants will describe CCPT play therapy skills. 
  4. Participants will discuss how to explain CCPT ideals used in the Playroom with caregivers. 
  5. Participants will discuss what aspects of CCPT they identify with. . 
  6. Participants will analyze 2 case studies and apply CCPT core principals from the playroom.

​Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be emailed, [email protected], at least 5 business days prior to training. Attendee has the option to transfer credit to another Playhouse training or accept a refund minus a cancellation fee of $25. 
Cancellations made less than 5 business days prior to training, are eligible for transferable credit to a Playhouse training of similar value. No refunds will be available. All refunds, minus the $25 cancellation fee, will be mailed 30 days after request.  
Should the presenter need to cancel training for emergency or inclement weather, participants will be notified via email, as soon as possible. Training will be rescheduled for a later date, in the event the subsequent date does not conform to the participant’s schedule, a full refund or credit (for future training) will be given.
