Parenting Classes
Feeling overwhelmed as a parent? Feeling like there is no "good way" to do parenting? Let's face it, in this day and age being a parent is challenging. There is no manual sent home with you the day you take your little one home and there are few supports out there designed to help parents. Between culture and societal influences, access to an overwhelming amount of contradicting information about parenting it's no wonder parents are struggling to raise their children. Join us at the Playhouse for 3 parenting classes with different focuses on strengthening your parent-child relationship and your confidence as a parent.
These classes are currently being offered once a week on Tuesday nights at 6:00 pm either in-person at our training center at 500 Huber Park Ct. Suite 106, Weldon Spring or via live webinar for easier access for those with childcare or transportation challenges. Each class is an 8 week course before rotating to the next topic.

Parenting 101 - Let's Start with Foundations
The purpose of this class is to provide foundational knowledge to parents to strengthen their confidence as parents. This class will cover the following topics:

- Child developmental stages and milestones.
- Parenting styles.
- Attachment concepts and patterns with an emphasis on how to develop secure attachment pattern.
- Developing age appropriate expectations, rules, and consequences.
- Setting and enforcing limits/rules by age.
- Developing co-regulation and self-regulation strategies for all ages.
- Promoting emotional identification and age appropriate emotional expression.

Coming Soon! Parenting Big Emotions and Even Bigger Behaviors
There are few things more challenging than a child who loses control, moving into a spectacular tantrum or meltdown. It is not uncommon for parents to struggle in these moments, particularly when the "usual" methods of de-escalation fail. Join us in learning more parenting strategies designed to navigate big emotions and big behaviors for children 18 months to 10 years of age. This class will cover the following topics:
